My name is Ben Butterfield. For over 10 years, I’ve had clients of all walks of life come through the front door of BPB Tax Resolutions. Business owners who are one step away from bankruptcy. Armed with an accounting degree and a head full of hopes and dreams, I started my journey in the finance department of a large corporation. I worked my way up the ladder, earning my MBA from the University of Nebraska. I started my journey by preparing tax returns for friends and family, and it slowly expanded to taxpayers from everywhere in the United States.

Throughout my early days as a tax preparer, I noticed the struggles of a few of my clients. There were issues with the IRS that went beyond the scope of normal tax preparation. I saw these struggles as a call to action, and I donned my education cap once more to study hard and earn the coveted title of Enrolled Agent. This is when BPB Tax Resolutions was born.

As an EA, I was able to take matters into my own hands and represent taxpayers against the IRS. This allowed me to help those who had more dire tax situations.

One of my clients owned a small business with financial troubles that left him an outstanding IRS balance of $135,000. Between raising a newborn with his wife and the constant threats of the IRS, the burden was more than he could stand. He approached me with hope that we could find a resolution. After a hard-fought battle with the IRS, I was able to settle his case with a balance of only $10,000, eliminating over 90% of his debt!

Another client was being harassed by the IRS over a tax bill of more than $190,000. When they asked me for options, I did some digging and saw that the IRS was not playing by the rules, and they were using a language barrier to make my client’s life difficult! I called the IRS agent, faxed them my power of attorney, and got to the bottom of things. Finally, the IRS accepted our final package of $56,000, a savings of more than $134,000!
